Priscilla

For the longest time, this movie has always piqued my interest and constantly stayed on my watchlist since I know what Sofia Coppola is capable of and her previous works always amuse me. I've just gotten around to actually watching it on the plane ride back to my home, and it's safe to say that this movie left me both agape and in pieces. Priscilla (2023) showcases a new side, a side that we have never seen before—the partner of the King of Rock himself, Elvis Presley. Cailee Spaeny portrayed young and gullible Priscilla in such a precise way that I found myself connected to her character in the span of one hour and a half. The way this movie was shot and directed deserves an award for itself. Sofia Coppola really knows her audience, and how to deliver a story that is already gut-wrenching on its own, but just better. Might give this a second watch, or even a third watch. Might even be one of my all-time favorite movie. This movie is just, everything.
