I don't know, maybe I'm crazy but I think what happened to her mom was the same thing that happened to Lilja. We got to see it through Lilja's pov since she adored her mom but after finding out that her mother "renounces" her parenthood, she wanted to become more for Volodya and took the risk of going to that club. I don't even know what I'm saying right now! It's 4:34 am and I just finished watching this depressing film and I don't think I'll be able to sleep today.
