Train Dreams
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound?
I saw a review for this film critiquing its lack of profundity, but actually I think that is the largest part of its charm. What a delightful slice of life, and what a poignant reminder that a life doesn't need to be profound to be meaningful. The happiest times in our lives are often the least exciting. They are the still, calm moments spent in love, and they slip by just as silently as they arrived.
Tender and touching from start to finish. No matter how quietly we enter and leave this world, no matter if we're alone, our lives still make sound, even if no one is around to hear it.
