Superman
The film that, while not the first, it definetely codified the superhero genre, and while it mighty show its age, it's still holds up today.
Christopher Reeve certainly was the best choice to portray the Man of Steel, as he portrays Superman's likability perfectly, and the other cast members, like Margot Kidder, were also excellent at portraying their respective characters. And like I said, the visual effects definetely show that the film is from the seventies, but nevertheless have aged incredibly well, especially compared to more modern superhero films that use an overload of CGI.
I just wish Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor had a little more screentime, he embodied the role very well.
