Not a single good shot or outfit in sight… unless Emma Watson appears on screen

Unimaginably large in scale. Self destruction at the very heart with tragedy waiting on every corner. The set pieces feel so huge and intimidating because they aren’t just the product of some VFX artist, they were handmade and you can sense that; real boats, a cyclops animatronic and even the trojan horse was handcrafted. Not to start with the amazing costumes, just look at Agamemnon, taking the presence of the screen with nothing but his armour and his confidence, the biggest aura farmer known to mankind. Paralleled with Ludwigs incredibly breathtaking score. The flashback of the siege of Troy had me sitting on the edge of my seat; so well placed and heavenly directing from Chris Nolan, he‘s outdone himself with this one. Samantha Morton as Circe is brilliant, vulnerable, but threatening and eery at the same time, really taking the presence from everyone on screen. Also really really loved Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon, yet again, the vulnerability they show is masterclass acting. Odysseus‘ scream had me in agony and the talk between him and Penelope before the trial made me shed a tear or two. Choosing a favourite scene from this movie is harder than choosing your letterboxd favourites; Polyphem emerging from the shadows in his full form, Agamemnon leading his troops through the city wall of Troy or the emotional talk between Penelope and Odysseus and many more to choose from. Zendayas portrayal of Athena really moved me, such little screen time, yet so important to the story, to Odysseus, to the law of Zeus.
