One of the most perfect movies to ever exist!!

As perfect as the first!! I love these movies!!!

I really had no idea what to expect going into this, but the trailer had intrigued me. I wish I was more familiar with this time period in Brazil going into this, but this story made me do a deep dive into the era afterwards and WOW!!!! This movie told such a gripping story and did it in a way that had my brain going the whole time, constantly trying to figure out what’s going on with Armando “Marcelo” and it kinda felt like my own “mystery” to solve. I really loved the incorporation of the culture as well as the carnival celebrations and come to learn afterwards, the historical accuracy of which the story existed in. And how exciting to be the first Brazilian film nominated at the Golden Globes!!!!!! The cinematography was so beautiful and I really enjoyed the usage of the “Dolly zoom” throughout the movie (I love the Dolly zoom). WAGNER MOURA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so thrilled he’s getting recognition from the academy because he is one of my favorite actors to watch. He’s so magnetic and he tells these stories in a way that reaches out past the screen he’s on…..(if that makes any sense) (he’s super fucking talented and deserving of his wins) I really enjoyed this movie and I really enjoyed learning more about the historical events and Brazilian culture during my after movie deep dive.
