Lovely Runner
65% — i loved their relationship so much! yet despite the promising premise, the plot and characters fell astoundingly flat
characters
- leads had great chemistry
- i really liked loser sun jae i wish they emphasized it more in the last few episodes
- i didn’t love the fan celeb dynamic….
- sol felt one dimensional! she rejected so many of her other relationships and wasn’t very invested in her own life in favor of saving him — if her character had more depth she wouldve been more relatable and easier to root for
- tae sung was cute but looked too old to be a high schooler…. i also wanted a bit more insight into his relationship with im sol in the last time skip
- more inhyuk and less of the second couple would’ve been more enjoyable imo
plot
- the serial killer plotline did not suit ithe vibe of the show? i skipped the majority of those scenes they felt super out of place — the point of the show that really stood out to me was the sacrificial love element and this subplot made it feel like a byproduct of some mystery drama and less so out of authentic love
- subsequently i hate how the disability and depression plots were fabricated from the mystery ugh ew
- timeskips were cute i loved their high school era so much
- i would definitely change the length… 12 episodes would’ve been enough had they not included the mystery subplot
- i was bewildered by how they introduced new and conflicting aspects of time travel every eps? poorly explained if at all and an absurd amount of plot holes
cinematography
- rain scenes were cute!!
- i liked the color grading
- the time capsule egg was ugly
- i got really sick of the song
- some of sunjae’s outfits were interesting….
i would consider rewatching episodes 2/3/4 (high school era!) and the scenes with his pov — i think the rest of the show played on too many tropes
