Secretary

Oh my god… I get it… insert Danny DeVito crying Not gonna lie I never thought I’d experience such a unique movie like this. Yes, this isn’t a clean and nice and soft romance, but so what? This film had genuine great character development, especially with Lee. When I first heard about Secretary I was initially off put about it because of its ‘weird’ and it being somewhat apart of the BDSM and Kink culture, but after watching it and looking at the odd TikTok, I finally get it, (not the actual acts of what is performed) but the emotions and feelings Lee and Mr Grey feel. (Spoilers) My favourite bit is at the end where the sex scene happens and Lee shows herself, covered in self harm scars. covering them up for years and holding her self back, but now with Mr grey, she finally feels beautiful with her scars, and not ashamed or embarrassed, but now feels loved. Love she didn’t feel with her toxic and bad parents and weak boyfriend Peter. Would recommend. “Most people think that the best way to live is to run from pain… but a much more joyful life embraces the entire spectrum of human feeling”
