this is the first hitchcock film i’ve ever watched, and now i understand why he is called the master. besides that, james stewart is becoming one of my favorite actors…the guy’s just fantastic! well, i understand this piece, or at least one of its layers, as the secrecy gay man had to deal with in the 50’s, and yet now. it just felt to other people like they murdered someone, when the “psychopathy” by brandon is like the men that act naturally, just like nothing happened. phillip, otherwise, is like the men who are always worrying about what they did.  in the end, they are all doomed to social death, by society. or maybe i am just crazy.
