the pinnacle of what i call a non-cinephile movie. it’s the kind of film that doesn’t need to appear chic or luxurious — it simply goes back to the core idea of storytelling. and boy, oh boy, se7en tells a story, and it does so with pure mastery. it’s nothing short of absolute perfection. fincher hits the mark on everything he set out to achieve: a good plot, a divine script, fantastic direction, and brilliant acting. this film has it all. now, i saw that plot from miles away.
