I guess they call them period dramas bc I always seem to watch them whenever I’m on my period to feel better about the world. And after a particularly hard week, rewatching this made me so happy. Jane Austen fans can whine and bitch and moan about the historical accuracy of the costumes, the dialogue, or whatever, but BBC can keep making these miniseries bc I eat them up every time. And yes I read the book so you can’t fight me on my opinions !! When I was 13 years old watching this for the first time, I told myself that there was no better love interest in classic literature than Mr. Knightley. and you know what: I was absolutely right. You bitches can keep your Darcys and Heathcliffs, thank you very much. I’m just out here vibing.
