Joyland
Will you come, to my funeral?
This is kind of a big deal for me cuz its the first time ever that i actually experienced watching the art and then seeing and listening to the auteur right in front of me. Joyland is a fantastic debut not just for Saim Sadiq but it feels so right and true that its a debut for many unspoken people and communities. Its the raw portrayal of many issues that are unfortunately buried and dismissed to keep that "strong" structure intact. Labelling the unlabeled, pointing pointless fingers and forgiving the unforgiving. I swear if I could I would frame every scene in my mind forever. A new and unique meaning to colors. That sombre feeling when everything died out in Joyland, the colors, smiles and love. It literally rips your heart out when you least expect it and never gives it back. This is definitely my favorite movie title of all time just because of how much it says and holds, I want Joyland tatted on me right inside my heart.
