emma stone being a badass is my favorite cinematic universe

I mean… it really was beautiful in terms of its score, pacing, and incredible views of italy, but the whole thing just felt so odd to me. so many parts felt hollow&empty, and their unbalanced dynamic was so striking that it was impossible to ignore. throughout the watch, I couldn’t stop thinking about how immature Elio was for this kind of relationship and how explicitly the movie suggests that Oliver’s attitude and actions toward him were ok — that it was just a bittersweet part of growing up for Elio. it makes me so mad. like, gosh, no, what the fuck? making your summer fling a boy who is clearly not ready for something so casual and is only beginning to discover and understand his sexuality is just cruel
