Oh. What. Fun.
This movie has the old Christmas classic film that I think a lot of modern Christmas movies are lacking. It was funny and charming and filled lived in. The relationships and character dynamics felt real. I was rooting for Claire, sympathizing for her when she was taken for granted and I got so angry when her kids treated her poorly. I felt like I knew the Clausers. They felt like people I actually know. The message of lending a hand to moms, especially during the holidays, was well told and honestly, I’m shocked this is the first movie tackling this kind of plot. I also loved how elements of the plot tackled plot points in different Christmas classics Claire mentions at the beginning of the movie. On top of all of this, the cast was stellar and everyone played their part to perfection. Definitely, a Christmas classic in the making.
