Psycho

Despite knowing the ending and the plot twists of this film due to its notoriety, it gave me absolute chills. I know everyone talks about the scene in the shower with Marion, but the moment that gave me the complete heebie jeebies was right after when they zoomed out on her unblinking eye with her face smushed against the bathroom floor. It was haunting. Anthony Perkins, though, made the movie. The way he could shift from slightly strangely endearing to undeniably eerie and unsettling was masterful. Norman’s dead-eyed stare (or should I say his mother’s?) will stick with me as one of the most unsettling moments I’ve seen at a film’s end for some time.
