bad taste in men, worse taste in movies pretend it's a top 9 and tusk and boogie nights and the batman and nosferatu the vampyre and the substance are on here too

my theater experience was not great, so i’m wondering if it impacted how much i liked the movie, but i dunno guys. i think as a debut feature, parsons did a great job. he has a real understanding for atmospheric horror and will definitely be talked about fondly for a long time. that being said, i didn’t love it :/ the performances were good, the set design was absolutely astounding, and they are doing massive things by putting boys in crop tops again. i also really love watching people run around. outside of that, i felt it was a little lacking. i really liked the uncanny valley feel of the still life(s), but i wish the entity was a little more frightening! i also feel that the scenes outside the backrooms were just alright. they didn’t drag per se, but i wish there was something more to keep me invested in the characters. ironically, i think they could’ve cut the duplass scenes before the very last bit. but also kane parsons is 20 and made this objectively well-made movie and im a lazy fat chud so who am i to give notes lets bffr. i feel like such a negative nancy in this, i actually really did enjoy watching it lol

another movie that affirms my belief that love is a prison and you are either a prisoner or the warden and there is no other option at all. i do wish the shot composition was a little more visually interesting, but overall i really enjoyed it. a movie that has me anxious 3 days after seeing it is a movie that i enjoy. very impressed with the whole cast and crew & i cannot WAIT for everyone’s next project(s)

my jaw dropped when the credits rolled very fun, this is a comedy show that would be way more enjoyable in person though so on that principle im not going to rate it bc i feel like it’s not fair
