Last Twilight

i really dont know how to rate this series. i wanted to love it and i really did. i spent 12 weeks with this show and each week i was more and more stunned with how much character and love there was to this story. but now it all just feels... contrived. people will say to just cut out the last 20 minutes and everything wouldve been fine but not really. sure if they had ended it after that dance it wouldve been better than what we got but episode 12 in general felt very odd in comparison to the rest of the series. i was in tears after episode 11. but the almost light-hearted nature of episode 12 was a tone shift that i didnt feel like made sense. as much as i want to think about how for 11 hours this show has astonished me. the whole ending and episode 12 made significant changes and recontextualizes a lot of earlier scenes, esp episode 9 which is one of the best episodes of bl in general. and. yes. as a disabled person myself, i was extremely offput by how those last 20 mins were handled. i did not like the decisions that were made. and honestly even more so, i hated how a lot of people showed their true colors of what they actually think of disabled people after how this show ended. if you know, then you know. anytime i spend thinking about last twilight now, its not in a positive light. an ending is so powerful in this way. i was ready for this show to be a masterpiece. the best of the year. but unfortunately i dont think i can say that anymore. i tell myself i should rewatch the show to fully process my thoughts but i dont think i can put myself through that at the moment. which is why it has to be a 3/5. its the highest i give a show that i enjoyed but cant see myself rewatching. i cant believe that yet another show i was looking forward to so much in 2023 has let me down so much. its a shame. i do want to say, i love sea and jimmy and the faults of the series are not theirs. they made mork and day the characters they were meant to be and even more. im glad they are getting their flowers for the amazing job they did and gaining more popularity. ive been supporting them since vice versa and im glad they are being praised. i hope everyone who did enjoy their performance here checks out vice versa. bc at least that show had a decent ending (an amazing one in my opinion).
