Wonder Man
Might be the best thing Marvel Television has made up to this point (haven’t watched Born Again yet, forgive me)
First off, as someone who’s been dreaming of being a professional actor, this show was just so cool. I noticed so many little things, like Stella Adler being mentioned, that just made me think about how passionate the people behind this series were.
When I saw the announcement for Wonder Man, I was really confused as to why Marvel was making this. I only knew Wonder Man from LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 to be honest. I knew he wasn’t the most popular character ever, and for them to green light a series about him must mean it would be great. And it was exactly that.
I loved Trevor Slattery, he might be in the top 5 MCU characters like of all time. But Simon Williams bro. I felt bad for Yahya when the DC reboot was announced, his Black Manta was probably my favorite thing about my favorite movie in that entire universe. But, this has allowed him to do so much more, with honestly, less of a character to go off of.
This series breaks expectations by focusing on Simon’s career, and having personal stakes, rather than world ending ones. I care for Simon so much throughout the series, and it’s not because he’s going to stop the world from exploding, but it’s because I want him to get this role.
I think that’s most of what I have to say, compacted.
PS, I believe Dustin Daniel Cretton will do GREAT with Brand New Day, if this goes to show anything.
