Aftersun
Aftersun never fails to make me cry like a child. This film doesn’t explain everything out loud, instead, it lets silence, gestures and fleeting expressions carry meaning, the way real memories do when you revisit them years later and finally notice what you missed as a child. What makes it so affecting is its tenderness. It never dramatizes pain or turns into spectacle, it treats memory with empathy. The whole movie feels like home movies replaying inside a heart that is still trying to understand who someone was and how deeply they were loved, even if words were never spoken. The memory becomes reflection and affection turns into longing.
