The Lighthouse
An absolute amazing piece on the downward spiral of mental health paired with isolation and loneliness. Loved the lovecraftian elements of it mixed with traditional folk lore of that setting and time-period. As always, in Egger genius fashion, the supernatural elements of the story can be interpreted as actually occurring in the timespan of the movie’s runtime and having a real effect/interaction with the characters and what we’re seeing; or it can be interpreted as if they are plot devices to be taken as symbolism or representation of a more metaphysical plot line.
