The Wailing

Probably one of my new favorites. It’s so good how it builds tension. Also the usual things like cinematography and sound design, vfx, etc. but the real area this movie shines is its plot. It makes you completely unsure of who to trust, even putting your faith in the wrong person, and it even foreshadows that it will do that to you by the first frame, the bible verse. The plot is so good to see when rewatched, seeing how everything fits together. Because it has pacing like a non chronological type of movie like memento where the movie is going backwards, but it manages to keep the timeline in the right order despite that. Perplexing without compromising the simplicity of the story, Genius writing. The main character is also so relatable cause he's using earthly methods to deal with something beyond earth.
