Cure
Cure is a murderer itself. It lurks, crouches, pounces, and attacks at perfect times, however the only difference is, instead of killing you, it leaves you distraught.
The convincing and proving surrealist scene of our main characters’ suicide, further exposes the superficial, readily accessible nature of violence, murder, and mayhem. How, despite our differences, it can be as speedily and realistically disposed as love, expect of course, this aspect reaps disparate outcomes.
The film circles around cinematic cliches such as deteriorating masculinity and environmental displacement, planting our main character as a lonely figure, devoid and desiring of greater, genuine human connection. However what Cure rejects and perpetrates distinctively, is that it cuts through the circle, finds its center, and characterizes it in evilness.
From my solely personal interpretation, I found Cure to be a film that delves into the ubiquity of multi-dimensional evil, and is concealed within everyone, however, whether we decide to puke it out or contain it internally, depends on our circumstances, silent wars, past, and the people around us, both contained in the present, experienced in the past, or anticipated for in the future.
As a further drawn result, I conclusively found Cure to be downright disturbing yet distinguished as it performs a metaphysical play of rather blatant, practical evils of the human race that is so realistically acknowledged.
A film that ditches glamorizations and instead opts for exploitation, in an aggressive, almost miserably disappointed manner, creating a new mode of ungraspable evil that silently wishes to cure itself, however it’s always left in utter injustice, once again, due to the ubiquity of evil.
Whether that colliding evil is contained in the soul, left drifting in the heart, swimming in the flesh, and now presented on the skin, and then further forced upon other people’s skin, and the cycle continues of man-on-man violence, and so on, and so on, and so on.
Then we ponder back and realize it will only always remain shared with everyone to take bites out of, but it always starts in that silent, soul-contained war that initiated from our internally complicated contents that love to fight against each other. Because fight is a mode of evil and evil is an unsurprising nature that us humans have become immune to and evil itself wants to cure itself but is left incurable because humans are incurable and if we are cured, so is evil, because at this point, evil and the human race is a sort of oneness with lines that become more and more blurry.
