Adolescence
Modern media is the driving force in a deliberate femicide. From a young age - boys are motivated to look up to their fathers - to showcase 'masculine' qualities; when in reality, there is no such thing. We have made up said qualities, as excuses to preach power dynamics, and an overall decline in basic human empathy. A man is uplifted when he is based in hate - and domination towards a woman; he is degraded and belittled when he is vulnerable and sensitive. The influence shifts its control to online, where notions of masculinity is further provoked and corrupted. We see so many cases, in which modern-masculinity relies on an objectification of women - and a destruction of harboring human empathy, and emotions towards fellow humans.
Something that takes control of our lives - without letting us think so - is this behemoth of social media; and the toxicity that it heightens. It's become so bad, so uncontrolled that hate, disgust for others and an overall dehumanization towards others is normalized and brandished. For young children, to soak up and behold everything there is on such a relentless force is looked past; only ever taken into consideration, when it is far too late. Speaking from personal experience - social media truly is a cesspool of loathing - a breeding ground for people to elevate themselves, and completely disregard others; its competitive, its performative, its consuming. Online radicalization is encouraged, 'memed', and joked, but no one ever truly discusses it - not until something substantially devastating occurs; the epidemic of teenage psychology dominated by unwavering hatred.
never ever would I think that a modern mini-series/production/anything that actively mentions 'Andrew Tate' and 'incels' would actually be good. this isn't just a small glimpse into a curious case of teenage stabbings; its an overall study on the manipulation that radicalization, masculinity, and teenage life has led to. andrew tate/involuntary celibates is the pinnacle of human waste, and so are all of its mindless followers. cleanse your social media.
