Saving Private Ryan

Another collaborative masterpiece from Spielberg and Williams. This film was a perfect way to project the horror of war and gave a different perspective by showing what happens on the battlefield. It is acted out very well and the opening scene is really quite incredible. They did well with the blood and gore effects as well because it only further pushes the fact that war kills soldiers brutally. I think this is the best war film of all time unless Forrest Gump counts as one.
