Myth

for all the great reviews and the beautiful animation, I expected this movie to be somewhat entertaining... it really fell short of my expectations. other than paprika and the fat guy, all the characters felt bland and lacked any reason for me to root for them. I honestly wasnt sure who I was meant to be rooting for, as they entirely switched the antagonists over the halfway mark and added all these weird details within a crisp 90 minute movie. this movie was insanely short, tried to do too much within it's runtime and i stand by that. that being said, the movie was very visually appealing and the soundtrack was unique and engaging (of course referring to the parade theme!!). paprika makes for a good film to have playing in the background while youre doing something else, but really no rewatchability factor...

maybe i wasnt tapped in enough but this movie was hot garbage. i was super hyped when i saw the awesome design of the slasher and the whole valentine theme running throughout the movie.. only to be met with lacklustre kills, dogshit acting and the most boring, unlikable characters ive ever seen.. the plot twist in the end wasnt that exciting or memorable either although i was surprised they didnt stick to the whole immortal slasher that resurrects on a specific date every year, which was cool ig. i still dont understand why this movie is praised so much the edits made it look so much more fun than it turned out to be
