I will show my kids these this movie and they will show their kids. How many movies can you say that about? Probably less then 10

I’ve started to just write random shit cause no one ever reads these except me. But I need to get my thoughts down for this one. There are only a few movies I’ve ever seen that when I’m done watching I can’t land on a rating. This time it’s because even though it’s one of the most visually stunning pieces of art I’ve ever seen… something was off. (Also I feel like a loser hating on the PLOT of a story I haven’t read sense freshman year high school) The dialogue was inconsistent garbage. (No I don’t care about “dad” I just expect more from a film with this magnitude) also every conversation without Matt Damon didn’t hold any weight and felt like it just existed to move the plot forward. The first 30-ish minutes of this movie upset me because it’s where the shitty dialogue and plot progression was so prominent. There are many problems with the cast. I understand this is a polarizing conversation but I need to talk about it. I’m sick of the same dozen actors in every single movie because every time I see there face I just think of what they have played before and that takes me out of the movie. Also no one really did a convincing enough job to bring me into the world (obviously except Christopher Nolan’s visuals… and maybe a bit of Matt Damon) Matt Damon was by far the best actor in the whole thing and made everyone else seem like they suck at their jobs. Anne Hathaway was terrible but I couldn’t tell if it was the dialogue Done with the bad onto the good So yeah probably the best or second best looking movie I’ve ever seen but no surprise there (Dune 2 probably first) I really don’t believe that plot is even remotely an important part of any movie which definitely sounds ridiculous but in this movie it really just is homers magnificent story making me care at all. The book would probably widely be considered the greatest story ever told if it wasn’t shoved down everyone’s throats freshman and sophomore year of high school… but I have a hard time giving this movie any credit for that. I don’t know I definitely have a lot more to say but don’t know how to express it Christopher Nolan is so incredible. He made me believe that there was a fucking cyclops in that scene that it was real. That’s how good it was. But he could not make me believe that Anne Hathaway or Tom Holland or most of the other writing or dialogue it absolutely took me out of it Will not be the last time I watch this movie

Odysseus the fucking man

Fun!
