Before Midnight
I think this movie shows the real and raw side of being in love and more importantly, staying in love. Compared to the first two films, this one feels more mature and grounded. It's like a snap back to reality, a reminder that even the most perfect couples go through hard times, face misunderstandings, and have real arguments.
But what I loved is that despite all the tension, there's still this underlying effort to understand each other. It’s not about the fairytale anymore, it’s about choosing each other, even when things aren’t perfect.
Even the coloring in the film reflects that shift. It's more muted and less romantic-looking than the soft, nostalgic tones of the earlier movies. It almost mirrors how the honeymoon phase is over, that we are back to reality indeed.
Like sunlight, sunset, we appear, we disappear. We are so important to some, but we are just passing through.
