Amadeus
Words can't describe what this movie made me feel. This has been my favorite watch and the most enticing since irreversible in the summer.
First of all, this is my 2nd Milos Forman film, the first one being my favorite film of all time, one flew over the cuckoo's nest. And this man hasn't missed yet. By hasn't missed I mean both of them are 10/10 and perfect in my eyes.
I could talk for hours about how much this masterpiece felt so surreal and perfect. And I talked with my dad for an hour about how much I love this movie, and everytime I say a new sentence I figure out one more reason why I love this and why I think it's perfect. And while I'm writing this, there's still words and pictures popping up in my head. So here it is:
I fucking adore the filming style Forman has, simplicity at its finest, but somehow making every frame impeccable, lovely to look at, and amazing to depict from a cinematography angle, every frame is a painting, accompanying the art pieces shown in the film and the witnessing of some of the greatest musical artist to ever live, the pictures I saw in this Movie are just so fucking incredible.
Not only were my eyes blessed bit my ears also danced in the purity and power of the score, I mean what did I expect? A movie with Mozart and Salieri, the score should be the first thing that is perfected, and perfected is was. It's actually so beautifully put and at the right moments, it's like I was sitting in the audience of one of the live opera events, I didn't feel like I was watching a movie, it felt more than that, Surreal is an understatement.
The writing was genuinely build and structured around narration and fiction, Salieri got what he wished for at the end, but after what? Salieri told his story in a way that he thought made him the hero, but indeed turned him into the villain, that jealousy, that built-up anger and envy led him to a place where he didn't think he would go too, firstly starting off by embracing God and turning to him at every bas situation, to creating worse situations either on himself or on people around him and accusing him of all the things he did. Writing was just so sublime.
And finally to the acting, gotta give props to the top 3, they were all so amazing, well deserved Oscar for F. Murray Abraham, and In my opinion Elizabeth Berridge deserves one as well, she was my MVP.
Overall, I don't see one singular bad things about this masterful creation, everything is so perfect down to the last minute detail. (Costumes and set design are also perfect)
