Inglourious Basterds
I get why many people regard this film as Quentin Tarantino’s magnum opus. The epic dialogue, the narrative style, the storytelling and the cinematography are one of his best works. And the villainous characters especially Colonel Hans Landa gave in my opinion the best performance in a war film in the history of cinema. The opening scene at the farmhouse is one of the best single sequence. Creating tension by stretching the conversation as a weapon of suspense was finely done. And Quentin’s revisionist history in his films is why am a big fan of his work. Reshaping history through cinema is one approach I haven’t seen many auteurs take. Beautiful film
