Is it that you distrust your audience, or that you felt your story lacked the bite it needed too late, to have that tactless epilogue? Second Raya Martin, after a hazily-remembered *Smaller and Smaller Circles* viewing some few years ago. But I remember even then thinking that film lacked a solid body and flopped as it completed its length. No bones to hold it up and no skin to make it whole; applies the same here.

Very painful to have my good memory of David Lynch slightly disintegrate as I watch two of his movies in one day. I liked them both, but not to the the extent of how I imagined how much I would like them. It may just be a testament to how good *Mulholland Drive* and *The Return* is. But frankly, I don't think I missed much on what Lynch was trying to say, nor do I think I'm far from the level of understanding the reviews on this platform show/reveal. But they seem to really have a great affinity for this. Due for a rewatch some years from now.
