i genuinely think every single person should watch this. it’s one of the best things i’ve seen in a long time and if you walked away thinking anything but terrified about the current state of this culture of hatred and violence against women and girls you need to reassess your thinking. couldn’t recommend this enough !!  the way that misogyny was so creatively and carefully integrated into this series was genius and often so subtle. it truly portrays the experience of women in the way from jamie feeling that he was somehow justified and ‘better’ for not sexually assaulting the girl he murdered, him choosing his dad as his appropriate adult, the experiences of the psychologist in the secure unit, the sense of community and ally ship between the staff member and jamie’s father for jamie’s offences, DS Frank’s name instantly being forgotten by staff members in the school and jamie’s mum only being good for roast dinners.  i could go on and on about this show it really is amazing and more important than ever.
