Superman

words can not describe the feelings i’m feeling as of seeing this movie twice in three days.  (but ima share some details about things i noticed)  i love how as clark we got to see how he was a little bit more stubborn and mean to lois, but while as superman he’s the nicest man a man has ever been, portraying clark kent as humanly and superman as this god like creature, willing to save any and all animal he can.  the contrast between the original movies (which i have yet to see(so this could be all wrong)) and this one involving lois and superman is so fulfilling. Lois is typically viewed in media as helpless and always getting into trouble, so superman can eventually save her. but in this she goes out of her way to speak up against other superhero’s because they won’t save clark so she does it her self, saves him with mr terrific 😻 and ruins lex luthor through a news article.    i love LOVE love how instead of superman’s parents being good and innocent, they are made out to be evil and not what clark expects, which ultimately leads to his down fall (he makes a speedy recovery dw). because obviously krypton and earth don’t have the same culture, no where does. so when he is told to rule over them and have many wives, it probably seemed normal to them. i love this feature, it just scratches something right in my brain.  it also relates to humanity as a whole, as when we are growing up we imagine our parents as kind and loving but as we grow into new environments and see other perspectives there are some things that our parents are cruel about or have a certain view on.  i’ve heard a lot of people say that this could be a metaphor for the war in Palestine, and i do agree but it’s also a metaphor for war as a whole, because, you know, war is bad. And when superman stops the war, people became upset, but is that not what we should do? stop war. no government is going to willingly confront a issue if it is not theirs. also a little ironic that an “alien” is the one to stop this infiltration instead of a human source of power.   ok so i’m obsessed with the ending. WHAT??? amazing use of cyclical structure going on. i did in fact cry 😭 krypto is the real hero of this movie 😼
