Conclave
Conclave could be the best movie of 2024 so far.
Edward Berger directs in an incredible way the lying portrait of the Catholic Church.
But not only that, it would have been simple just pointing the finger and say that all priests are pedophiles, instead Berger show their doubts about god (cardinal Lawrence) their corruption (cardinal Tremblay) or their conservatism (cardinal Tedesco).
That’s what Berger wants to talk about, a game of chess between liars and impostors.
Even if the ending wasn’t what I hoped for reflecting on it made me understand the message behind it.
All the actors are phenomenal, Ralph Fiennes has been astonishing and I’d like to see him win the Oscar.
The music creates a tension which persists all the time and the cinematography uses white, red and black to confuse and scare us.
Really and truly amazing! 🛐
