The Devils

this movie + 2 vodka red bulls later, i am shaking and i am going to throw up. this was so grotesque and brutal. it was vilifying and vulgar in it’s imagery. it was overtly and unapologetically blasphemous. ,,,,but it was also a rich and powerful fever dream of nun orgies, borderline medieval torture porn, and the demented depravity of the church. i feel like this movie spoke to me through a dimensional plane that i’ve never experienced before. visual and verbal poetry that left me in a state of catharsis looking at my own reflection on the screen wondering what the hell i just watched. its like getting stabbed with a freshly sharpened chef’s knife then immediately popping a vicodin.  i loved every fucked up little second of it and i’m not sure why i put this movie off for soooo long. would totally recommend to a friend and/or your local church’s young adults group.
