I just had a kid a month and a half ago, so I haven’t really been in the loop on theatrical re-releases. I saw this was playing in IMAX and spontaneously decided to check it out at a nearby theater.  Having heard about it for years, I was excited to finally check it out, and seeing anything in a theater always adds to the experience. Honestly, for the majority of the runtime, I didn’t really understand why everyone says this is one of the best of its genre. It wasn’t until the incredible last 20 minutes or so that I realized how much of a masterpiece this film actually is.  Meticulous attention to detail, an excellent script, great chemistry between Pitt and Freeman, and an absolutely chilling performance by Spacey all combine into an incredible movie watching experience. Originally, I was only going to give this 4.5 stars, but I just haven’t been able to stop thinking about that spectacular third act. It’s definitely a 5 star film, maybe top 10 worthy. I will definitely be watching it again.
