I Swear
In a year where Superman, Fantastic 4, Thunderbolts, Sinners and Conclave have all been highly anticipated new releases, never did I think a film about a wee Scottish guy who swears a lot would be my film of the year. But it is, and it isn’t particularly close. The journey from anxious and scared boy to confident man, frequently marked with times of difficult struggle and uncontainable joy, is a heartwarming and incredible watch. Robert Aramayo’s performance felt so real, and he fully embodied what it must be like to suffer from Tourette’s. There were so many great scenes that made me feel genuine emotion. And besides all that it is far and away the funniest film I have seen this year. John visiting the library at the end 🥲🥲🥲🥲 10/10, no notes.
