Spider-Man
Decided to watch the open matte version because I heard a lot of people complimenting it. And I can say without a doubt, what a movie! It’s of course the exact same, but the colors are far more vibrant than the official release, and it keeps its aspect ratio from the 35mm film so you can see certain things you wouldn’t originally. It’s like seeing the movie from a new perspective.
This is one of the best movies of all time, It’s exactly what a superhero movie should be, it’s campy and fun, but there’s l heart and soul you can feel through the screen. Even in an edit where I can see boom mics, I was never thrown off or taken out of the experience. It’s just that good of a movie. 5 stars!!
(P.S thank you to my extremely rich CEO father for finding this extremely legal, extremely expensive copy of this version of the Spider-Man 1 movie directed by Sam Raimi.)
