Brokeback Mountain
Oh my God… what was this.
I honestly don’t know how to describe how much I loved the vibe of this film. It feels so calm, so gentle, and the views, the place where everything happens, are absolutely breathtaking. There were at least five moments where I just sat there, mouth open, stunned by how beautiful Brokeback Mountain is.
And now, about Jack and Ennis.
God.
Such a quiet beginning. I swear they barely spoke in the first twenty minutes. And then the tent scene happened… and I really wasn’t expecting it to go that way.
Moving past that, their story is deeply sad. I genuinely felt heartbroken when I saw that both of them ended up with wives. Not just because of them, but because those women deserved someone who could truly love them.
Jack and Ennis have one of the most complicated relationships I’ve ever seen in a film.
I also don’t think I’ll never get over the fact that Jake’s character dies in the movie, and Heath Ledger died in real life. The connection they seemed to have, even beyond the film, makes it all feel even more tragic. If you really think about it, it’s painfully depressing.
Lastly, I need to mention again the extraordinary landscapes and, of course, the soundtrack, absolutely beautiful.
I think my biggest dream would be to live somewhere like Brokeback Mountain.
