**professional *movie watcher*** Top four are 3 all-timers, and my favorite film of the last year. Just cuz I don't heart it doesn't mean I think it's bad, sometimes!

I’ve been fascinated by figures like Clavicular for the past couple months - not because I like them, far from it, but because I think their existence is a symptom of a larger cultural shift. I’m glad a film is tackling these ideas. But, the real question is does the film tackle them well? Uh…. no.

Empathy is the greatest tool humanity has. Easily Spielberg’s weirdest and clunkiest film - but it’s clear he has a lot he has a lot to say. Colman Domingo and Emily Blunt MVP, but Josh O’Connor is, expectedly, wonderful. Gonna rewatch and see how it holds up.

Another one of those films thats so close to being perfect with the exception of one major… lapse: Elaine’s love of Ben. I don’t buy that she’d get back to him after the shit he pulled in Berkeley, but that’s just me. The best *and* worst film to watch after graduating high school (I did it!!!)
