Train Dreams
just got out the cinema with nanar. we both went into this having absolutely no idea what it was about, nor who was in it. not a single clue, just knowing that it had good reviews and had obviously been nominated for an oscar. apparently my aunty had been wanting to see this, and if you knew my aunty you’d know that is an EXTREMELY rare thing. my mum has also been wanting to see this, so had nanar and i known we would’ve invited them.
the film itself was slow and quiet, in its scenery and score it was subtle but beautiful. i even noticed as it begun that it seemed quite narrow, not as wide as a lot of movies we go and see, and now after finishing makes me think it almost feels as though we’re watching roberts life play out through film, or something of that nature.
it was pretty sad tbh, but also beautiful, life man…. idk
the end sequence had me fully tearing up and crying, the flashbacks of his life as he flew in the air with the piano playing UGH it got me 💔
i think my mum would love this movie
there’s something so beautiful about the simple moments, the quiet, the ordinary, and the people you love. it’s always a pleasure to see a film that painfully reminds you of that fact, and to not take it for granted
