Adolescence
Ep1 - We wait around the whole episode only to find out what the boy did and cut to the credits, also it is trying really hard to make us feel sympathy for the killer.
Ep2 - Spends the whole episode doing absolutely nothing only to get the conclusion served in the most surface level possible, name drops Andrew Tate and leaves it and my biggest problem is that they says how the victims don't get enough attention and then proceeds to to the same for the remaining two episodes.
Ep3 - Not bad but still tackles the reasons why young men are turning like this on the most surface level possible and makes up half of the already bullshit analysis. Also there is this thing they do of Katie bullying Jamie which is also complete nonsense.
Ep4 - A nothing burger and again spends the whole time making us try to sympathize with the killer.
I really don't understand the point of this show it does absolutely nothing to show the problems of social media nor does it focus on the impact the murder had on the family, they only introduce Katie's friend in the 2nd episode only for that episode and even she seems like she cares more about how she is lonely rather than how Katie is dead. This also touches my biggest problem which is that it is desperately trying to make us see how the Jamie's family is impacted, and yes they probably didn't deserve it but why should we care their son is a killer why should we sympathize with that. I absolutely can't understand the people that like this show and think they have reached enlightenment and are the oracle of wisdom after watching a shitty netflix crime show. I get what they were trying to do but they did it in the worst way possible, this like the Dahmer but kids version. It’s giving misleading insight because nobody actually takes stuff like that online seriously, you can't really be saying that he killed her just because she called him an incel. It sparks unnecessary fear and doubt in adults. That’s not a good thing. It's a cheap way of blaming social media instead of bad parenting, of course nothing good comes out if you let your child be raised by randoms online without them seeing the real world.
