Chungking Express
Being paralyzed by indecision between watching dead poets society (sorry Kaavya), memories of murder (sorry Tyler), or in the the mood for love (sorry Hayden) I decided on absolutely none of those and went with this instead.
Pulls emotions through both the characters and the screen using lush visuals and writing to punch you in the eyes with the knowledge of exactly what each character is feeling without ever being able to put words to it. All so lonely all so desperate all so hopeless this movie has a lot more despair and regret than I thought it would but all of this is done so brilliantly with emotions so nuanced so that, as I said before, you can’t ever put your tongue on exactly what you are feeling. Absolutely nothing in this movie matters besides the love that each character feels and that’s amazing. Wish I wasn’t completely braindead because of 2 AP exams so I could really enjoy this more and I WILL be coming back for a rewatch but wow just stunning. I WANT TO WATCH MORE WONG KAR-WAI MOVIES!!!!!
