Interstellar

One of the best films of the 21st century. One of the best movies ever made, in my opinion, and will go down as one of the greatest of all time.
Christopher Nolan has somehow gained the ability to summon witchcraft and put it into a movie. This movie has almost no flaws. Matthew McConaughey obviously stands out as the head of the pack, but Murph absolutely killed it, whether she was a kid, adult, or even the short scene as an old lady. All of the ladies killed it.
In typical Nolan fashion, this movie was so very complex. Sometimes, his movies can get a bit wrapped up in themselves and it denounces their value (ex. Inception). But Interstellar stops itself from this. It really feels deep and the reveal near the end is mind-boggling (his future self warns his past self in an infinite loop? The universe decided he was going to do this? Does this disprove free will?) but it is still so captivating.
If I could show somebody 5 movies to get them into cinema, this would easily be there. It's long, but every single moment is worth it and it feels like it flies right by. When I finished it, I walked to my bed and nothing felt real. It's one of those films that just alters your brain for a bit.
I love the balance of science, fiction, and emotion in this film. It's a movie that is so easy to cry to, so easy to dissect and analyze, and so easy to wonder and think in awe about. It's an all-rounder that checks every single box every single time.
If you call this movie overrated, I don't like you. If you say that this is not an all-time great movie that will effortlessly stand the test of time, you are a pest whether you know it or not.
