The Raid

This is THE action movie. Not a moment was wasted in this film, it told you everything you needed to know and then left the rest to visceral violence. The camerawork in this is phenomenal. There were so many sick sequences. For example the scene in the wall where the machete punches through, when they climbed through the ceiling just as the baddie walked into where they were just moments before, when they kicked the ceiling light as the brothers fought together. Or when the gunshot from a policeman lit them all up leaving them easy pickings for the thugs above. The fight scenes were spectacular. Absolutely gripping and seemingly unending sequences that flowed together wonderfully. This is as simple an action movie plot as they come but it was executed to perfection.
