The Whale

I've already written lengthily in many a youtube comment section singing my praise for this movie. I really like it. I think it depicts obesity and its preconditions, trauma, isolation, as well as potentially the allowance of the disease by friends in perfect vivid detail. Despite the physical flaws of the main character as well his failures of character (neglecting his daughter, his body) we still get to see the last remaining embers of his pure and kind soul shine in the final moments.
