A Clockwork Orange
I've waited a whole week, and now i am writing this review. The aim of this movie is to disgust the viewer, to represent a part of the human being, the worst part, what Saint Agostino called "the original sin", the involuntary tendency of every man to do evil, to transgress the moral rules and the law. Agostino in fact used as example an episode of his life. When he was just a kid, he stole a pear with some of his friends. Not because he needed to, not because he didn't have any, he just wanted to do something wrong. Well, that's the original sin , the evil side of every man, what the eastern cultures would call "Yin". That's what I think this movie want to represent. you are gonna feel disgusted, hurt, while you are watching it. And that's normal. It also represents the individualism, how every character just thinks about himself. Every man is in fact selfish. No one really wants to help Alex. Every member of the society just wants to use him. We can see a prison which is so not rehabilitative, it doesn't really help guilty men to change and be ready to come back in the society. Police men who abuse of their power. Politicians who use a man that suffers, victim of scientific experiments, just for propaganda. Nurses who s.a a young boy in a coma. And of course, it is all reflected in the family too. As Aristotle teaches us, family is the fundamental nucleus of society, its first building block. so the parents, just like everyone else, think about themselves first, and they give up their son's room for money. In the end, some people feel sorry for Alex. Well don't. he is part of the system. A sick system where everybody is the archer and the prey.
