Burning
Slowly paced and beautifully shot. It masquerades as sort of a murder mystery, based on Murakami’s Barn Burning, but is actually a film about the slow build up of rage caused by the social pressures and isolation born of capitalism and patriarchy. And how that rage gets misdirected as a way to satiate the anger and emptiness of having desires that you’ll never meet or obtain. Arson is always a fun way to decompress. Murder might be a bit much though.
