Mickey 17
I normally don’t go for this genre of film very often but Mikey 17 was a movie I definitely didn’t regret watching. The plot was intriguing and what I truly liked was that they didn’t included cliche plot elements that are so overused even if the director played with the audience’s mind making them believe that they were taking that “road”. It was also satisfying to watch a film that had a simple structure « beginning, middle part , ending, and the ending was exactly what you’d want to feel completion . I feel like many directors now try so hard to make something unique, to a point that the film itself loses its charm instead of enhancing it, and this movie was not the case. Despite being a comedy- sci-fi, it clearly managed to satire the fascism and capitalism people suffer from globally and especially in the Us with the shithead they elected even tho I don’t think that those who voted for him would be able to comprehend a movie of any sort but anyways. Nevertheless what I wasn’t really a fun of was the acting of Pattinson trying to act like a “ bad boy” and some very stereotypical traits and monologues of the protagonists as they felt very pushed, hackneyed even. They could have been interpreted differently, with a more natural way so that it wasn’t so obvious they were scripted
