Silence
I don’t think I’ve seen a film tackle faith and religion with such raw authenticity before. Extremely chilling and powerful in storytelling, which in hand is due to the amazing performances; nonetheless, it’s baffling how Andrew Garfield’s career-best performance wasn’t even recognized by the Academy. Still I feel this is Scorsese’s most underrated works, and I honestly don’t know why. Undoubtedly, a film that deserves to be talked about far more than it is, Scorsese here is at his best.
