Manic
Joseph Gordon is seriously underrated, and this movie really proves it. The low budget style adds to the impact and makes everything feel more raw and real. I loved how the film lets the patients just talk telling stories, joking, having conversations almost like they’re sitting around a campfire even though they’re labeled as mentally unstable the movie shows they’re still just normal people underneath it all. The ending really got me, when he chooses to walk back to the psych facility even though he had the keys and could’ve easily left, It felt like he realized that running away wouldn’t fix anything, and that if he left, he is most likely to end up just like his father. This movie honestly made me feel a lot.
